MEETINGS

Per the Constitution, we are to hold compulsory meetings two times in the year during which Financial Statement is read to Members. Other meetings are held in times of emergency and need. This accords the Executive freedom to call meetings in the interest of the Association.

For the past four years, we have been holding our meetings at the District Assembly Hall, Jacobu.

Normally General Meetings (GMs) are held on Sundays after church service.

The Executive plans carefully to ensure that our meetings last about three hours. So if we all abide by rules prevailing in the house, GMs that start at 2pm and end at 6pm.

SMS is sent to all Members at least five days before the day scheduled for the meeting. A typical notice would like this:

GENERAL MEETING
The Jacobu Youth Association invites you to a general meeting scheduled as follow

AGENDA
DATE: Sunday, ....................
VENUE: District Assembly Hall

All meetings are chaired by the President, and in his/her absence, the Vice President. The Secretary reads the previous unread minutes and upon acceptance, the house agrees the meeting proceeds. The President reads the agenda for the day after which members are allowed to contribute as and when the topic is put to the floor.

Next time you receive a message from us, do not hesitate to attend our meetings. We need you more even as you need us. We believe our collective effort would put this network of friendship seated in high places.

Give us a call for further clarification(s) or leave a message on this blog in the space called comments.
